Songs We Sang

At a school visit, someone (thank you, Jessica!) asked if "Going Home Tomorrow!" was a real song, and then when I
said yes, we had the idea of putting it on the site. I've also put:

"Early One Morning" -- words, notes for playing and singing, and the tune played on a piano

"Green Grow the Rushes, O!" -- words, notes for playing and singing, and the tune played on a piano

If anyone sings and records "Going Home Tomorrow!" please send me the file and I'll put it up.

And here is one of the songs the others sang at the midnight feast.. Scroll and click to hear the tune played on a piano.

This is the song we sang on the last day of term.

Meanwhile, if anyone sings it and records it
(maybe some of you have the equipment
to do that and could get a group of
your friends to sing it really loudly?),
please email it to me
AND I WILL POST IT.

I will put in more songs if people ask
me to. Please email me at Libkoponen@aol.com.

Thanks!

Listen to the song Early One Morning played on the piano.

This is the song game Veronica and I and all the others sang at the village sing along. Scroll to see the notes and hear
someone playing it on the piano.

GREEN GROW THE RUSHES, O!

(Leader sings:)
I'll sing you one-o,
Green grow the rushes-o!
(Everyone else sings:)
What is your one-o?
(Leader sings:)
One is one and all alone and ever more shall be so!

(Leader only sings:)
I'll sing you a two-o.
Green grow the rushes-o.
(Everyone sings:)
What is your two-o?
(Leader sings:)
Two, two, the lilly white boys, clothed all in green-o,
(Everyone sings:)
One is one and all alone and ever more shall be so!

(Leader only sings:)
I'll sing you a three-o (leader)
Green grow the rushes, o!
(Everyone else sings:)
What is your three-o?
(Leader sings:)
Three, three, the rivals.
(Everyone sings:)

Two, two, the lilly white boys, clothed all in green-o,
One is one and all alone and ever more shall be so!

(Leader only sings:)
I'll sing you a four-o
Green grow the rushes, o!
(Everyone sings:) What is your four-o?
(Leader only sings:)
Four for the gospel makers!
(Everyone sings the rest:)
Three, three, the rivals.
Two, two, the lilly white boys, clothed all in green-o,
One is one and all alone and ever more shall be so!

(Leader only sings:)
I'll sing you a five-o
Green grow the rushes, o!
(Everyone else sings:)
What is your five-o?
(Leader only sings:)
Five for the cymbals at your door and

(Everyone sings the rest:)
Four for the gospel makers!
Three, three, the rivals.
Two, two, the lilly white boys, clothed all in green-o,
One is one and all alone and ever more shall be so!
